Announcing Gemax Open 2010

Gemax Open 2010, one of the fifteen challengers from Tretorn Series + , will be played on the courts of Tennis Club Gemax, from 15th to 20th February, for 125 000 dollars prize.

At the first press conference of this year's tournament, Aca Bolic was first to speak.  Director of the Tournament announced the arrival of Mario Ancic, the winner of the first Gemax challenger, and currently 115th player on the ATP list. After long break and missed Australian Open, once the seventh player in the world, will have a chance in Belgrade to return to the top.

Application deadline is until 25th of January. Besides Ancic, Jan Henrih also applied (109th player on the world rankings), than Mihail Kukuskin (128), Andrey Golubev (131), last year's finalist Dominik Hrbati (135), Dastin Braun (143) and Rosol Lukas (151) who played in Belgrade last year.  

The only domestic player that till now confirmed participation is Ilija Bozoljac (currently 176th on ATP list). Confirmation is awaited from other Davis Cup players. Nenad Zimonjic announced a possibility to officially retreat from playing professional tennis in single.

As in previous years, Gemax will continue to provide opportunities for young players. Opportunity to stand next to our seniors will have the most talented juniors -  Filip Krajinovic, Dusan Lajovic, Nikola Cacic ... Many now world-famous players began their way to the top of ATP list on Gemax's tennis courts - Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Risar Gaske are just some of the names...Viktor Troicki, currently 30th player on ATP list,  began his successful tennis career by winning Gemax Challenger last year.

Dusan Orlandic, director of the Tennis Association of Serbia said that this year's tournament could be of the highest quality ever.

As in previous years, during the tournament the most modern technology will be used and you will be able to watch current events via Video Streaming and Live Scoreboard-A.
