Gemax :: News Story list en Gemax :: News The highest part of the construction of New Office Building at New U.S. Embassy Compound on Dedinje is officially completed After 15 months of intensive construction GEMAX completed construction of the New Office Building within the compound of the new U.S. Embassy in Serbia.

On this occasion, at 11th May 2011 the ceremony was held at which the U.S. Ambassador Mary Warlick and Belgrade Mayor Dragan Djilas symbolically finished concrete on the roof top of the the future Embassy higest building. In February last year at this spot, on a frozen barren field breaking ground ceremony was held and construction of new Embassy begun. During this construction process construction team was working long hours, through weekends, and inclement weather, to provide work to be completed on time. All who participated during construction process with dedication and commitment have achieved a significant milestone today. Works are still in progress for the rest of the buildings allocated within the Embassy Compound.

 On the Topping out Ceremony of the main building of the new U.S. Embassy in Serbia among others were attended U.S. Ambassador to Serbia Mary Warlick, Major of Belgrade Dragan Djilas, owner of Framaco Paul Kacha, project manager Steven Shaffer, owner of Gemax Djordjo Antelj and project manager for Gemax Biljana Bogićević as well Gemax foremens and workers who participated during all the time of construction period.

Exhibition on Water In cooperation with Sonntag, our renowned German partner, company Gemax presented the technology of microtunneling on the Exhibition on Water at the beginning of November 2010 in Expocenter in Belgrade.

The Exhibition on Water, international scientific conference on water aimed to present modern equipment and water management technologies, was held between November 2 and 4, 2010 in Belgrade Expocenter, under the auspices of Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management, Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning, Ministry for National Investment Plan, and Ministry of Infrastructure of Republic of Serbia. On the common stand of companies "GEMAX" and "SONNTAG" visitors could inform themselves about microtunneling, the technology which enables placing of pipeline under rivers, swamps, roads and settlements for all types of pipelines (Ø 200 - 3600 mm),and see the film which presents this technology itself, as well as the course of Montenegro Sustainable Tourism Development Project. Our stand was also visited by Mr Oliver Dulić, The Minister of Environment and Spatial Planning, who in a short conversation with our representatives showed great interest for the technology of microtunneling.   

On November 2, 2010, on the openning day of Exhibition on Water, the lecture under the title "Pipe jacking" was organized in the conference hall of Expoceneter, during which experts of companies "GEMAX" and "SONNTAG" introduced this system in detail, as the safest and most profitable solution for placing all installations under rivers, swamps and settlements.

Montenegro Regional Water Supply Project On this project, Gemax will set new standards in construction engineering in Serbia and region.

Gemax will set new standards in construction engineering in Serbia and region in the project Regional Water Supply „Crnogorsko primorje".

Even though „Strabag" withdrew from this enormous project, it will still be finished in summer this year. Further executions of works and the continuation of the project were entrusted to Gemax due to the great reputation the company has gained in the past.

Three sections of the Regional Water Supply are currently in preparation. The issue is very complex and complicated since the pipeline will be passing under the river Moraca at two spots where the water level is extremely high meaning that the surrounding terrain is bellow the water level.

Restoration of the Orthodox Church Svete Trojice in Mostar Gemax has agreed to execute very complex works on restoration of the Orthodox Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in Mostar.

Gemax has agreed to execute very complex works on restoration of the Orthodox Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in Mostar.

The Orthodox Cathedral is under UNESCO protection and national monument of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Thus, appliance of authentic materials and identical construction techniques during restoration and reconstruction is required. Contract agreement value is 4.5 million €.

Last year, Eparchy of Zahumlje and Herzegovina at the donor's conference collected funds necessary to begin restoration of this once recognizable symbol of Mostar, one of the highest and most beautiful Orthodox churches in the Balkan region.

„Our goal is to build churches and temples for people from Bosnia and Herzegovina and the temple should be joy to all and grief to no one", with these words bishop Grigorije officially opened the beginning of restoration of the Orthodox Cathedral Holy Trinity in Mostar.

Announcing Gemax Open 2010 Gemax Open 2010, one of the fifteen challengers from Tretorn Series + , will be played on the courts of Tennis Club Gemax, from 15th to 20th February, for 125 000 dollars prize.

At the first press conference of this year's tournament, Aca Bolic was first to speak.  Director of the Tournament announced the arrival of Mario Ancic, the winner of the first Gemax challenger, and currently 115th player on the ATP list. After long break and missed Australian Open, once the seventh player in the world, will have a chance in Belgrade to return to the top.

Application deadline is until 25th of January. Besides Ancic, Jan Henrih also applied (109th player on the world rankings), than Mihail Kukuskin (128), Andrey Golubev (131), last year's finalist Dominik Hrbati (135), Dastin Braun (143) and Rosol Lukas (151) who played in Belgrade last year.  

The only domestic player that till now confirmed participation is Ilija Bozoljac (currently 176th on ATP list). Confirmation is awaited from other Davis Cup players. Nenad Zimonjic announced a possibility to officially retreat from playing professional tennis in single.

As in previous years, Gemax will continue to provide opportunities for young players. Opportunity to stand next to our seniors will have the most talented juniors -  Filip Krajinovic, Dusan Lajovic, Nikola Cacic ... Many now world-famous players began their way to the top of ATP list on Gemax's tennis courts - Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Risar Gaske are just some of the names...Viktor Troicki, currently 30th player on ATP list,  began his successful tennis career by winning Gemax Challenger last year.

Dusan Orlandic, director of the Tennis Association of Serbia said that this year's tournament could be of the highest quality ever.

As in previous years, during the tournament the most modern technology will be used and you will be able to watch current events via Video Streaming and Live Scoreboard-A.

Gemax and new American Embassy Gemax has signed contract for construction of new U.S. Embassy, total value – 117 million dollars.

The U.S. Embassy will soon move from the current building in Kneza Milosa to Dedinje. At the corner of Prince Aleksandar Karadjordjevic Boulevard and Ive Vojinovica Street began construction of new American diplomatic complex in Belgrade.

Gemax obtained ISO 9001:2008 certificate As a result of successful quality improvement, at the end of December, Gemax obtained the latest certificate ISO 9001:2008.

The company successfully continues development of Quality Management System, started from 22nd of December 2004 with first certificate according to ISO 9001:2000 standard.  New revision of ISO 9001 in November 2008 sets more strict requirements in terms of monitoring performance and quality business processes.
